Need for Speed: Nitro gets some style cred (Wii)

As Forza and Gran Turismo set a collision course for each other in the upcoming months for next gen racing game dominance, the racing brand that pre-dates both franchises is set to make its own unique mark exclusively on the Nintendo Wii.  EA Montreal, the developers of  Need For Speed Nitro on the Wii and DS have announced the upcoming racers’ own style flare in the genre.  Along with the title being specifically developed for the Wii and DS, the game will now include exclusive car skins from creative and modern design brands Upper Playground, i am 8-bit, tokidoki.  The skins compliment the games established line up of luxury and high performance car models giving them a style you will only see on the Wii.  Sean C.

– EA Montreal, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio, announced today that it is collaborating with lifestyle brands tokidoki, Upper Playground and i am 8-bit to create exclusive in-game car designs and artwork for Need for Speed™ NITRO on the Wii™. Each brand has created custom skins for a wide variety of vehicles including the Lamborghini Gallardo, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger R/T, Volkswagen Type 2 and Subaru Impreza WRX. They have also provided over 140 stylistic brushes that players can use to paint and personalize their ride. The cars in Need for Speed NITRO have style, personality and edge unlike any racing game.

Gallardo Toki skin

The tokidoki brand is one of today’s most popular lines of apparel, accessories, toys, skateboard decks and other merchandise. The brand is characterized by a colorful, high-energy artistic style, while the word tokidoki means “sometimes” in Japanese.
