Capcom goes DLC for Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition

Resident Evil 5 Alternative Jill Valentine

After announcing that Super Street Fighter IV would be sold as a separate stand alone disc, when Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition was announced at Tokyo Game Show 09 it was assumed that the NA release of the alternate edition would follow suit with the Japanese release and also be sold as a stand alone game.  To some surprise however, Capcom announced that they would let the North American and European fans decide as to how they would like the new content be delivered.  The digital content friendly regions (in comparison to Japan) predictably voted for the DLC option and now the new content is slated for release on the PSN and Xbox Live.

The Alternative edition will at least feature a playable Jill Valentine alongside Chis Redfield, a new area with the Spencer Estate (both reminiscent of a more classic Resident Evil setting), as well as new motion control schemes confirmed for upcoming peripherals set for release in 2010.  Sean C.
