Console Creatures @ 2010 Life’s Good HD Short Film Festival (Toronto)

On January 28th 2010, we were invited to the grand finale of what is becoming to be yet another yearly tradition in an already bustling and deep Toronto film festival circuit.  Introduced last year, the Life’s Good festival was meant to celebrate the D.I.Y. culture in filmmaking which, not so coincidently, has grown with the evolution of HD quality filming products, online HD video sharing, and its increasing accessibility around the world regardless of location and/or economic situation.  Being the largest festival of its kind in the world and sponsored and created by LG, kudos is deserved if only for the fact of the company’s active role in sponsoring events that attempt to further bring worldwide attention to Toronto and Canada.

With all films strictly in HD format hailing from around the world, the night celebrated winners in each of the four categories of Animation, Fashion & Music, Sports, and Narrative while ultimately award a $100,000 prize to one of the four winners.  This year, the judging panel was a mix consisting of a film executive  (Laurie May Co-Founder and Co-President of Maple Pictures, a singer/songwriter (K-OS), an actress (Jaime King), and a NBA MVP/film maker (Steve Nash).

Check out the winners in each category and the subsequent grand prize winner:
